Summer Studio News & Updates

London trip, successful gallery show at Liberty London, and new adventures.

Welcome to the McFriendy hotel!

Hello Friends!

This month has been a bit of a crazy one.

I made a quick trip down to London to pick up the paintings I showed at The Seventy Five at Liberty London. The show was a great success, and I’ve really enjoyed working with such an iconic British institution, so thanks to all who made it happen.

I was able to meet a lovely collector in person to give them their painting, and the rest have now been shipped to their new homes round the world.

While in London I went to see the Wes Anderson Exhibition at the Design Museum with my son, and we loved it. The Isle of Dogs models were so great and the Fantastic Mr Fox dioramas…wow! I left feeling very inspired.

As for my time in the studio this month, I’ve been busy as usual and have enjoyed revisiting some older ideas. Who remembers those early cats in crash helmets? (You’re a real OG if you do!). It’s always interesting to see how differently I approach an idea the second or third time around.

I also finished off the next adventure in the life of Ernest - it’s funny how some characters just won’t leave me alone, and seem like they have more stories to tell.

Hope you’re enjoying the tees and totes in the new mcfriendy store - thanks so much to all of you who have placed an order, I’m always so grateful for your support. Lots more exciting stuff to come there - so keep checking back.

❤️
